Macintosh utility to eject all types of disks with ease: cd, dvd, zip and more.

Do you find ejecting disks from your computer a pain? If you are typing at the keyboard you have to stop what you are doing to pick up the mouse, change to the Finder (if you were in another application), move any windows that happen to be covering the disk icon, and then drag the disk to the Trash. It all seems a lot more work than it should be. That is why I wrote EjectDisk.

Now all I have to do to eject any floppy, CD/DVD or removable disk (like Zip disks, Jaz disks, etc) in the computer is press a single key (which I can change) on the keyboard. If I have more than one CD or removable drive on my computer, no problem - I can assign a different key to each drive. Opening and closing the CD/DVD tray is also easier with EjectDisk. No more hunting for the open button on the front of the drive, I just press the key which I set up on my keyboard!

EjectDisk also prevents the situation we have all been in at one time or another - shutting down the computer but leaving a CD/DVD we still needed in the computer. EjectDisk will eject any CD/DVD left in the computer at shut down, saving you the time it would have taken to start up the computer again just to get the CD out (not to mention the frustration it can cause!)

EjectDisk is different from using Command-Y or Command-E in the Finder in two ways. First, to use either Command-Y or Command-E you have to select the disk before you can eject it, which you don't have to do if you are using EjectDisk to eject the disk. Secondly, if you are using EjectDisk you don't have to be in the Finder to eject the disk (which can be very useful at times!)

Take control of your disks -- download EjectDisk now!
